International kite festival 2013 in San Vito Lo Capo

Autumn is here! October has begun, and a magic, romantic atmosphere surrounds Sicily. Unique scents and flavors can be perceived everywhere: from the sweet and rustic fragrance of local wine (it’s grape harvest time!) to the unique and delicious flavor of pistachio (the second week-end of the Pistachio Festival in Bronte starts tomorrow!). And then we all know how beautiful the sea is in Autumn and Winter. Combine these two features with the always-blowing Sicilian wind and you get the perfect set for the International Kite Festival in San Vito Lo Capo, from October 26th to November 3rd!

One of the most beautiful seafaring resorts in Sicily, San Vito Lo Capo – the town of Cous Cous: its wide sandy beach will be the perfect place for great “kiters” coming from all over Europe and beyond. This year, kiters from Guatemala will guest star during November 1st with a stunning show that will delight both kids and adults.

The fifth edition of the Festival will be a great chance for our Sicily villas guests to discover the most light-hearted, funny and cheerful side of the Sicilian character: entertainment for kids, respect for the environment, and colorful kites flying high in the sky. And a great chance to discover the beautiful town of San Vito under a whole new light: the beach is less crowded and restaurants keep serving delicious Cous Cous, typical “busiati” pasta and pani cunzatu.

November 1st and 2nd are usually quite sad celebrations around the world; in Sicily, however, these days are dedicated to the celebration of friends and relatives who passed away. The celebration is not sad though: kids often receive candies and gifts, and the whole commemoration is happy and cheerful. This is why it comes as no surprise to know that the most interesting and entartaining moments of the Festival are scheduled for these two days. Come along and enjoy!
